Clarity | Stillness | Compassion | Mindful Presence
This mala offers quiet clarity and compassionate presence, supporting a calm mind, thoughtful awareness, and a heart guided by wisdom.
Sodalite is traditionally associated with truth, insight, and clear communication. Its deep blue tones invite us to look inward with honesty, bringing greater awareness to our thoughts, words, and choices. Howlite, with its soft white colouring and delicate grey veining, complements this with qualities of stillness, patience, and gentle reflection—an invitation to slow down, soften mental noise, and return to the present moment.
The Egyptian silver guru bead forms the grounding point of the mala, marking the place of return in traditional mala practice: a reminder to pause, reconnect with intention, and begin again with awareness.
While making this mala, I worked with the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum, one of the most cherished mantras within Tibetan Buddhism and closely associated with Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva of compassion. For this piece, the mantra became an intention woven into the making itself: that clarity of mind may be accompanied by kindness of heart, and that awareness may naturally find expression as compassion.
Together, these elements create a foundation of mindful presence—supporting inner stillness, honest reflection, clear awareness, and compassion in everyday life.
Each mala is made by hand with the intention that it may support the healing and wellbeing of the person who eventually wears it.
