My story...
Some journeys begin with a clear destination. Mine began with a feeling—an unshakable knowing that music and sound healing were my path. From the moment I placed my hands on the piano, heard music on the radio, and first held a flute, it felt like an extension of my soul—a voice that could express what words never could. Perhaps not consciously at first, but deep in my subconscious, I knew music was always meant to be a part of me.
I followed that calling, earning a degree in music and performing arts from the University of Pretoria and later studying in France. My journey as a professional musician led me to perform in orchestras, chamber groups, and solo recitals across Pretoria, Johannesburg, and Cape Town. Music wasn’t just something I did—it was something I felt. It carried me, shaped me, and connected me to something far greater than myself.
For over 20 years, I taught music to children and adults, sharing not just technique but the emotion and mindfulness behind each note. Yet, somewhere along the way, I began to sense that music was more than an art—it was a form of energy healing. It was a bridge to stillness, inner peace, and deep transformation.
That realization changed everything.
I started exploring sound not just as music therapy, but as medicine for the mind, body, and soul. I was drawn to the ancient wisdom of Tibetan singing bowls, the gentle yet powerful energy of Reiki healing, and the profound stillness that comes through breathwork and mindfulness practices. At the time, there were few formal courses in sound healing—so I followed my intuition, immersing myself in training, teachings, and my own spiritual journey.
And then yoga entered my life—not just as a physical practice, but as a path to self-discovery. In 2022, I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (Yoga Alliance accredited), which allowed me to integrate energy healing, meditation, and sound therapy into a holistic practice. Everything I had learned—mantra chanting (kirtan), guided meditation, and vibrational healing—suddenly made perfect sense together.
As I deepened my understanding, I realized that healing isn’t just for adults. My background in music education led me to work with children, helping them develop self-regulation, mindfulness, and emotional balance. I completed training in Yoga for children and Yoga therapy for special needs, teaching young minds how to find stillness and confidence through sound, breath, and movement.
And so, Home of Bliss was born—a space where sound becomes healing, where energy moves freely, and where transformation happens naturally.
At Home of Bliss, I offer heart-centered holistic healing sessions to guide you on a journey of self-discovery, relaxation, and spiritual growth. Through sound healing therapy, energy healing, breathwork, mantra medicine (kirtan), yoga nidra, and meditation, I help you connect with your deeper self, release stress, and restore balance. Alongside me, my life partner Andries brings his own gifts to our space, offering therapeutic massage therapy and personal growth facilitation. Together, we create a nurturing environment where each session is thoughtfully tailored to your unique needs, offering deep relaxation, emotional release, and lasting inner peace.
This path has taught me that healing isn’t about instant results—it’s about patience, trust, and deep listening. I don’t promise miracles, but I do offer a safe, nurturing space where you can experience profound energy shifts, clarity, and lasting transformation.
If you’ve found your way here, perhaps this is the sign you’ve been waiting for. I would be honored to walk this journey with you.
With love and presence,
Thomas
